Otherwise if you are looking for general mental health help there are Heads Together charity partners you can contact. There is no too big or too small an issue, from disappointing exam results to depression or any other mental health challenge. We believe everybody needs a little help sometime.
People around you, such as friends and family may also be a good first port of call. However, it is sometimes the case that those closest to us that don't know how to best help. For this reason we have listed our charity partners below, all of which are available and accessible to all.
CALM offer an accredited confidential, anonymous and free support, information and signposting to men anywhere in the UK through our helpline. This helpline and a webchat service they offer is open 7 days a week, 5pm to midnight. Callers can talk through any issue, they’ll listen and offer information and signposting. Calls won’t show up on your phone bill and are free from landlines, payphones and all mobiles.
FOR ARMED FORCES COMMUNITY
Contact is a collaboration of military charities working with the NHS, the MOD and academics to improve access to mental health and wellbeing support for the Armed Forces Community. A wide range of support is available through the partner organisations.
Mind’s Infoline advisors provide information on a range of topics including; types of mental health problems, where to get help and support in your local area, medication and alternative treatments and advocacy. The Helpline is open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (except for bank holidays).
YoungMinds run a free, confidential parents helpline, which parents / carers can call if they are worried about how a child or young person is feeling or behaving. They also run a group called Parents Say, for parents whose children are accessing Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
FOR UNDER 25s
The Mix is the here to take on the embarrassing problems, weird questions, and please-don’t-make-me-say-it-out-loud thoughts that people under 25 have. They offer a free & confidential helpline available 365 days a year via phone, email or webchat. They also have discussion boards and live chat.
